Tokyo’s First Freight Forwarder Summit

Tokyo lit up with excitement as it hosted the 19th Annual JGC Line Conference from June 12th to 16th at The Westin Tokyo.
For the first time ever, freight forwarders from around the world gathered in Japan’s bustling capital. The conference had a great turnout, with 54 attendees from 26 countries.

Welcome Cocktail Party

We kicked off with an unforgettable Welcome Cocktail Party, where both familiar faces and new friends mingled.
It was a pleasure to welcome first-time attendees like Tianjin Huafeng Transport Agency Co., Ltd. from China, AE Cargo from Hong Kong, Excelsior Worldwide Freight Logistics Corp. from the Philippines, Eagle Logistics Services from the US, Cargoland Internacional CIA from Costa Rica, and KMS Logistics from Singapore. The evening also included a special birthday celebration for one of our members, and we raised a toast to all our June and Gemini babies.

Conference Day 1

The first official day began with gratitude and recognition. We thanked our Platinum sponsor and host, Apex International Inc from Japan, whose generous support made this event possible. Steve delivered an insightful presentation on navigating the shipping business in Japan. We also acknowledged our Diamond sponsor, Pyramids Freight Services from the US, and welcomed newcomers KMS Logistics from Singapore as Gold Sponsor, and Aura Freight Time Shipping from Dubai, sponsoring our conference t-shirts. We’re thrilled to welcome Wisetech Global from Australia as our Vendor Sponsor, offering CargoWise for seamless logistics management. The day concluded with engaging introductions from our new members, showcasing their companies and strengths.

Conference Day 2

The heart of the conference was the lively one-to-one meetings, buzzing with energy and ideas. This year, we were thrilled to welcome observers like Dolphin Shipping from Jordan, Asialink from the Philippines, 5 Continent from Spain, Smithurst Solutions from the UK, and Wells Cargo from Ireland. These sessions were a hub of networking and brainstorming, sparking new collaborations and friendships. The room was filled with enthusiasm, turning every meeting into an exciting opportunity.

Half Day Tour

On the last day of conference, we also enjoyed exploring Tokyo with a half-day tour. We took in views of the Tokyo Skytree from the Sumida River, strolled through the bustling Nakamise Street, and visited the serene Sensoji Temple.

Award Ceremony

We hosted an award ceremony to present participation plaques to all delegates and membership certificates to all our members. This was a moment of recognition and celebration for everyone’s contributions and commitment. Additionally, we invited everyone to write down their suggestions for the next destination of our 20th conference in 2025, sparking excitement and anticipation for the next conference!

Gala Dinner on Symphony Cruise

The grand finale was a spectacular gala dinner, complete with a best-dressed contest that had everyone cheering.
Shaun from Infreight Malaysia wowed the crowd and took home the Male Best Dressed award, while Lilian from Infinity Taiwan dazzled her way to the Female Best Dressed title.

Our Commitment to Giving Back: Supporting ACCESS Bangalore

This year, we decided to start something new by donating $3,500 to ACCESS Bangalore, an organization in India dedicated to helping vulnerable children. ACCESS has been working since 1992 to break the cycle of poverty by providing educational and social support to some of the poorest children in Bangalore. They focus on nurturing children and supporting their families. For more information, visit their website at accessbangalore.com.

It was a heartwarming moment for our network, reflecting our commitment to giving back and making a positive impact.

Reminiscing Past Destinations and Revealing the 2025 Conference Location

The evening’s fun included a unique activity where long-standing members held balloons inscribed with past conference destinations, arranging themselves by year to reminisce about previous gatherings. The night ended on a high note with the big reveal of the 2025 conference destination, leaving everyone buzzing with excitement.

Mark your calendars and join us next year for more networking, fun, and unforgettable moments at the 20th Annual JGC Line Conference.
